A training course for people with disabilities working in civil society in Baghdad Governorate

The participation of people with disabilities in civil society activities is a real success in promoting the inclusion of all social groups, and empowering people with disabilities is a turning point in our Iraqi society to ensure their rights and advocate for them.

The Civil Society Services Center in Baghdad organized a two-day training on “Effective Leadership Skills” for members of the “Change path for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities” organization in Baghdad province.

The training included discussions on the basics and principles of effective leadership that contribute to enhancing the creativity, communication, and utilization of the capabilities of people with disabilities. They discussed several fundamental principles that they will work on enhancing, including decision-making skills, creativity, integrity, flexibility, communication, positive behavior, relationship building, problem-solving skills, confidence, teaching and mentoring skills, strategic thinking, change management skills, administration skills, and problem anticipation skills.

The #UPP works with Al Mesalla to empower local CSOs in Iraq through TATWEER project funded by the European Union and in partnership with local NGOs (Alnajah Center for Training&Development in Basra and Shakoufyan Organization in Anbar).
