A Roundtable in Anbar on Climate Change and Environmental Challenges

  • Towards a More Sustainable Environment: The Fifth Roundtable in Anbar Discusses Climate Change Challenges! 

As part of efforts to strengthen the capacities of local organizations and address environmental challenges in Iraq, the Civil Society Service Center in Anbar organized the fifth roundtable discussion on climate change and environmental protection. 

The session witnessed a broad participation of representatives from local environmental organizations, along with the presence of the Director of Agriculture in Anbar, the Directorate of Water Resources, the College of Agriculture, climate change specialists, and the Environmental Advisory Office. The participants discussed the major environmental challenges facing the governorate and explored possible solutions to mitigate the impacts of climate change. 

The session covered discussions on the effects of climate change on agricultural and water-related activities, ways to enhance environmental awareness in the community, and sustainable solutions to protect natural resources.

The #UPP works with Al Mesalla to empower local CSOs in Iraq through TATWEER project funded by the European Union and in partnership with local NGOs (Alnajah Center for Training&Development in Basra and Shakoufyan Organization in Anbar).
